Pie is Good

Sports in hope highlands
Hope highlands is a school with no sports team to represent them in the state. I think we should make a baseball team, soccer team,and a football team.The school has numerous students with the skills to achieve a playoff spot in these sports. Are baseball team can be a full team with pitchers, DH`s, and coaches. Tryouts will be needed for players to make the team. For football the players can be made with full amounts of rosters. Soccer will also have all positions available too. Even though are field is small we could attempt to build a little league sized stadium for our baseball team.We could build a football stadium to home the football team and soccer team. In the comments for this post please leave a suggestion for the names of the teams. I think the team could be called the huskies for baseball. The building will take a huge chunk out of our school budget though. Are school could afford it though. I`ll probably will be in middle school during this but i will still come to games.
Improvements In Our School
Our school has been changing. Hope Highlands has two new teachers. Mrs.Hart who is a very nice art teacher. Mrs. Tomassi, a generous music teacher who is ordering the whole school recorders. She is also good friends with Mrs. Green. The lunch menu has changed too. Mr. Cowart has also made a major upgrade in the computer lab. Most of the old computers are the new Macs. Our school has acquired a new awning out near the field. I think our school is the best elementary school!!!!!!

Book Fair and Reading Challenge
Hey guys the book fair is coming up on march 30th. The theme for the book fair is the diner this year. Last year Mr. Cowart was dressed up as a hot dog, its so funny I laughed. This years reading Challenge we have to read 40 or 60 minutes a week. Here are the prizes
1. A Homework pass
2. A free recess for the students and
3.Mr Cowart is going to dress up as Elvis Presley and sing.
I'm so exited about it.

Western Hills for Me
Hi everyone I'm Mari and next year I am going to middle school, which I am nervous about. On the bright side I can make new friends. I hope they're nice to me. Waking up very early will be hard because the bus comes at 7:30. When I graduate I will be proud of myself. I'm going to miss Hope Highlands. My favorite part is the wax museum in 4th grade. One thing I love the most is recess. My favorite is the father daughter dance.

Pennies for Patients
Pennies for Patients is a fundraiser for kids with Leukemia, and Lymphoma. Many people have been chosen to be counters. Each counter ,or counters, are assigned a classroom. The counters will return to their assigned room every Wednesday and Friday to collect money from the donation boxes. A donation box is placed in each classroom. This fundraiser is for a great cause so keep those donations coming!

Jump Rope For Heart
Our most recent school activity was Jump Rope For Heart. Jump Rope For Heart is a foundation that raises money to pay for surgeries for kids with sick hearts. If you raise a certain amount of money you will be sent prizes. For example, if you raise $50 you will be sent a tee-shirt and all the other prizes under that amount of money.

The 100th Day of School
The 100th day of school is coming up! The kindergartners are preparing to sing their 100 song. Get ready for some great voices! In three days, they will sing their song to the whole school over the intercom. Each of the kindergartners brought in 100 of something to show to the class. They have brought in various items from pencils to lollipops. The kindergartners have done various activities regarding this big event. Our kindergarten teacher, Mrs.DoVale, brought in lollipops so each child could lick it 100 times. They also had cupcakes with a 100 on them. Delicious! In the hallway there are 100 penguins lined up on the wall, one for each day of the school year. There is also a poster of 100 things the class loves. There was even a book called First 100 Words. This is going to be a great 100th day of school!

Stargirl Book Review
This book is about a girl who is named Stargirl and is very unusual. She goes to MICA High School and meets a boy named Leo. Leo is just a ordinary boy who has a boring life. At Mica on the first day Stargirl sang happy birthday to a boy. After that everyone became very scared of Stargirl. Since Leo needed some excitement in his life he decided to become Stargirl 's boyfriend. At the end of this book their is a ball and Leo didn't ask Stargirl to the ball. The reason why he didn't ask Stargirl to the ball was because he felt embarrassed dating Stargirl. Overall this book is great. I recommend this book for teens and preteens. If you want to have more information about this book you'll have to read to find out!!!
